    • Iron supplements can reduce the effectiveness of Levothyroxine, a thyroid medication, and should be taken at least 4 hours apart.
    • Antacids containing calcium, magnesium, or aluminum can decrease iron absorption, and should be taken at separate times.
    • Iron can decrease the absorption of certain antibiotics, such as Ciprofloxacin and Levofloxacin, and may require a gap of several hours between doses.
