Pseudoephedrine constricts blood vessels in nose and sinuses. It shrinks the swelling and drains fluids. Paracetamol has an analgesic effect that is mediated through descending serotonergic pathways. Triprolidine binds to the histamine H1 receptor. This blocks the action of endogenous histamine, which subsequently leads to temporary relief of the negative symptoms brought on by histamine.
