AdvaXaban (5mg) 30 Tablets

Apixaban is an anticoagulant drug used to treat blood clotting; deep vein thrombosis, Apixaban is indicated to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.

Dose must be taken according to doctor’s advice only; doses given below are suggested as supportive literature for better understanding in some areas of requirements. The recommended dose is 5 mg orally twice daily. In patients with at least 2 of the following characteristics: 80 years of age, 60kg body weight, or serum creatinine 1.5 mg/dL, the recommended dose is 2.5mg orally two times a day.

Overdose of Apixaban may result in high risks of bleeding. FDA-approved antidote for this medication is Andexanet alfa.

In case you missed any dose, take the next dose as soon as you remember but don't double your next dose to compensate for the missed one.

Should be taken orally as prescribed.

It should not be used in patients with active pathological bleeding and severe hypersensitivity reactions to Apixaban.

Headache, swelling or joint pain, heavy vaginal bleeding, black stool, nosebleeds, bleeding gums.

Apixaban should be discontinued at least 48 hours before surgery or invasive procedures to avoid the risks of unacceptable or clinically significant bleeding. Dosing adjustment is required for moderate renal impairment.

Store at 25°C. Protect from heat and moisture.
