Amlodipine: Antianginal Agent; Antihypertensive; Calcium Channel Blocker, Dihydropyridine. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist it acts by inhibiting the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscles this mechanism leads to a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, resulting in a decrease in blood pressure.

Uses
Angina: Treatment of symptomatic chronic stable angina; treatment of confirmed or suspected vasospastic angina. May be used alone or in combination with other antianginal agents. Hypertension, chronic: Management of hypertension in adults and children ≥6 years of age.
Dosage
Dose must be taken according to doctor’s advice only; doses given below are suggested as supportive literature for better understanding in some areas of requirements. Children dose; <6 years: Oral initial dose is; 0.1 mg/kg/dose once daily; maximum daily dose is 0.6 mg/kg/day or 5 mg/day. Children ≥6 years and Adolescents: Oral initial dose is; 2.5 mg once daily; maximum daily dose is 10 mg/day. Adult dose: Initial starting dose is 2.5mg once daily, then 5-10mg once daily, maximum daily dose is 10mg once daily.
In case of Overdose
Consult your doctor in case of overdose, as it may cause hypotension.
Missed Dose
In case you missed any dose, take the next dose as soon as you remember, but don't double your next dose to compensate for the missed one.

Take it orally with your doctor’s instructions.
When Not to Use
Hypersensitivity to amlodipine or any component of the formulation occurs, then do not use. Do not use amlodipine during breastfeeding.
Side Effects
acute hypotension upon initiation is unlikely due to the gradual onset of action. Blood pressure must be lowered at a rate appropriate for the patient's clinical condition. Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.

Symptomatic hypotension can occur
