Aromek (2.5mg) 10 Tablets

Letrozole is a non-steroidal type 2 aromatose inhibitor which blocks the active site. This competitive inhibition prevents the conversion of androgens to estrogen. This reduces the availability of estrogen causing the estrogen-dependant tumors to regress.

Non-steroidal aromatase inhibitors

Used to treat:

• postmenopausal women with hormone receptor positive early breast cancer
• breast cancer in postmenopaual women who have previously been treated with tamoxifen
• advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women
• prevent cancer from recurrence

Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.

You may feel sick and have blurred vision with faster heartbeats in case of overdose. Seek medical help immediately

In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. Skip it if it is nearly time for your next dose

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily.

Not to be used in:

• premenopausal women
• pregnant or lactating women
• hypersensitivity to the drug
• hepatically impaired women

Side effects include:

• hot flashes
• hair loss
• tiredness
• unusual sweating
• nausea and diarrhea
• bone pain

Precautions include:

• Since this drug can be absorbed through the skin and lungs, women who are pregnant should not handle this medication or breathe the dust from the tablets.
• This medication increases the risk of bone loss

Interactions can occur with:

• estrogens
• estrogen blockers
• tibolone
