Product Information
Montelukast sodium is a selective and orally active leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene CysLT1 receptor, stimulation of this receptor by circulating leukotrienes is thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of asthma. Montelukast sodium suppresses both early and late bronchoconstrictor responses to inhaled antigens or irritants, but is not suitable for the management of acute attacks of asthma.
