    Betamethasone is utilized for the following therapeutic indications:

  • Dosage

    Tailoring Treatment for Optimal Health, Prescribed Medication Dosage is:

    • Skin Rash- Apply the cream to the affected area twice daily for up to 4 weeks.
    • Vaginal Itching and Discharge- Apply a thin coat of the cream to the vaginal area after each bowel movement for 5 days.
    • Neurodermatitis- Initially apply a small amount to the affected area daily followed by a reduction in frequency and quantity until complete withdrawal of topical therapy usually occurs after 4 weeks.
    • Inflammatory Bowel Disease- Start with a small amount applied to the affected area and increase gradually until the optimal response is obtained.
    • Ulcerative Proctitis / Ulcerative Proctitis- Initially, use a small amount applied to the affected area and increase gradually until the optimal response is obtained.
    • Primary Bacterial Skin Infections- This cream is not recommended for treating primary bacterial skin infections.
    • Infantile Hemangiomas- Topical corticosteroids are not recommended for the treatment of infantile hemangiomas.
    • Primary Viral Skin Infections- Viral infections of the skin should be treated systemically rather than topically with corticosteroids.
    • Rosacea- This medication is not recommended for the treatment of rosacea.
    • Perioral Dermatitis- This medication is not recommended for the treatment of perioral dermatitis.
    • Eczema- This medication is not preferred for the treatment of eczema, and should only be used if other safer medications are not available or tolerated.
    • Acne Vulgaris- This medication is not recommended for treatment of acne vulgaris.
    • Scar Therapy- This medication is not recommended for the treatment of scars.
  • In case of Overdose

    Betamethasone BP 0.1% & Neomycin Sulphate BP 0.5% are topical steroids and antibiotics given for bacterial skin infections and for other conditions as determined by your doctor. When an excess of the prescribed dosage is ingested, symptoms reflecting the effects on the stomach and nausea, as well as neurological effects on the central nervous system may occur. These include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, flushing, thirst, dizziness and headaches. Severe cases may present with hypotension and respiratory depression.

  • Missed Dose

    If you miss a dose of Betamethasone BP 0.1% with Neomycin Sulphate BP 0.5% it is important to not double up on the missed dose when it is time to take your next dose. Simply continue with the regular schedule of the medication. If you are unsure about how to proceed, or have missed multiple doses, it is very important to consult your doctor or pharmacist to avoid any drug-related problems.     Before you use Betamethasone BP 0.1% with Neomycin Sulphate BP 0.5%, ensure your hands are clean. Properly wash them with soap and water. This medication is for topical application on the skin, as instructed by your doctor. It is important to avoid contact with your eyes and do not swallow the medication to avoid any serious side effects. Apply a thin layer to the affected area. Gently rub it until it is absorbed. You may experience a mild tingling sensation. To get the most benefit, use this medication regularly, at the same time each day. If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as possible. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up. Store this medication tightly closed, at room temperature, and away from heat and light. It is important to inform your doctor about your medical history to ensure this medication is safe for you to use. Notably, if you have any allergies or other skin conditions, as this may affect whether this medication is suitable for you. If you experience any side effects, such as redness, swelling, burning, or itching of the skin after application, consult with your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
