Bisoprolol (10mg) 14 Tablets

Barilol tablet is prescribed to patients with high blood pressure, or with mild to moderate chronic heart failure. This medication is a member of the beta blocker class of medications. By blocking beta receptors, barilol prevents the effects of adrenaline from narrowing blood vessels and promotes the free and appropriate flow of blood to the organs and through blood vessels.

Bisoprolol is utilized for the following therapeutic indications:

• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Treatment of heart failure, improving symptoms and exercise capacity
• Prevention of angina pectoris (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart)
• Reduction of the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery disease
• Control of heart rate in patients with arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats)

Take as per doctor's prescription. The dosage depends on what your doctor suggests to you, based on your age, weight, and immune system condition. Do not stop the medication abruptly:

• Adult Dosage

A tablet a day is commonly prescribed to adult patients at the beginning of the treatment. the dosage may be altered after two weeks depending upon the patient's reaction to the drug.

• Child Dosage

Barilol tablet is not considered safe for patients under 18. Therefore, child dosage is not recommended by doctors.

• Elderly Dosage

Due to decreased kidney function, patients over 65 may not be able to process the components of the Barilol tablet. The doctor may prescribe an altered dose (low dose) of the Barilol tablet

Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Look out for beta-blocker overdosage symptoms like:

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Take the tablet orally with water once daily as prescribed by the doctor. It is also advised to take the medicine with food to avoid the stomach trouble. Drink a lot of water.

Do not use this medicine if you suffer from any of the following:

• Allergic to Bisoprolol
• Severe asthma or chronic lung disease
• Severe blood circulation problem in limbs
• This medicine should not be used by pregnant or lactating mothers as it can have severe consequences for the fetus.

Common side effects include:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Diarrhoea/Constipation
• Fatigue
• Dry Eyes
• Elevated Blood Sugar levels
• Bradycardia (slow heart rate)

You should practice these cautions before taking the medication:

• Please avoid driving while taking this medication as it may impact your ability to stay focussed and concentrated. Only drive if you are really confident.
• Please consult your doctor before taking this medication if you have 1st degree AV block, heart failure, peripheral arterial circulatory disorder.
• If you have diabetes, take precautions and consult your doctor before taking this medication.

• Antidepressants
• Nitrates
• NSAIDS
• Antiepileptics
• Anti-Parkinson drugs
• Baclofen
• Steroids
• Cough medicines
• Antidiabetics
• Antiallergic drugs
• Antihistamines
• Rifampicin
• Nitrates
• Drugs for asthma and/or COPD
