It works by relaxing and opening the airways, making it easier to breathe. It is a selective beta-2 receptor agonist that relaxes smooth muscles found in bronchial, vascular and uterine tissues

Beta agonist

Used to treat:

• wheezing
• shortness of breath
• chest tightness
• asthma
• chronic bronchitis
• emphysema

Overdose may cause unusual dizziness, dry mouth, severe headaches, seizures, fast heartbeats and severe nausea. Seek immediate help in case of overdose

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Do not use in case of:

• acute or maintenance tocolysis
• hypersensitive to sympathetic amine
• hypersensitivity to terbutaline

Common side effects include:

• convulsions
• decreased urine
• loss of appetite
• irregular heartbeat
• increased thirst

Be careful with this drug when dealing with patients that have gestational diabetes

This medication may interact with these drugs:

• tricyclic antidepressants
• celecoxib
