Capoten (50mg) 20 Tablets

Captopril is known to block conversion of angiotensin 1 to the potent vasoconstrictor angiotensin 2. It simultaneously inactivates the vasodilator peptide bradykinin. It also has various immunomodulatory functions as well.

ACE Inhibitors

This medicine is used to treat:

• high blood pressure
• heart failure
• prevents strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems

Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment

Overdosing symptoms may present as trouble breathing or passing out. Seek immediate help in case of overdose

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

This tablet is taken by mouth on an empty stomach preferably 1 hour before meals as directed by your doctor

You should not use this medicine if:

• You are pregnant or planning to be
• you have an allergic reaction to ACE inhibitors

Common side effects include:

• dizziness or lightheadedness
• dry cough

Tell your doctor right away if:

• you face serious side effects such as nausea or vomiting that doesn’t stop, fainitng spells, muscle weakness, irregular heartbeats
• you have any serious medical condition or taking any medication for those
• you are on dialysis or have high potassium levels in blood
• you are pregnant ot planning to conceive

This medication may interact with these drugs:

• aliskiren
• sirolimus
• lithium drugs
• drugs that increase potassium levels in blood
• NSAIDs
• drugs that may increase BP
