Product Information

  • Description

Atenolol is a synthetic, beta-selective (cardioselective) adrenoreceptor blocking agent, without membrane stabilizing or intrinsic sympathomimetic (partial agonist) activities. This drug works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals like epinephrine in your body, on the heart and blood vessels. This mechanism lowers the heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart. Atenolol is indicated in the management of hemodynamically stable patients with definite or suspected acute myocardial infarction to reduce cardiovascular mortality.
