Sugar Test Strips
Product Information
Glucose strips are designed to work in conjunction with a glucometer, a portable device that reads the glucose concentration in the blood. Each strip is coated with enzymes, such as glucose oxidase, which react with glucose in the blood sample. When a small drop of blood, usually obtained from a fingertip using a lancet, is applied to the strip, a chemical reaction occurs that generates an electrical signal. The glucometer then measures this signal and converts it into a numerical value representing the blood glucose concentration, typically displayed in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) or millimoles per liter (mmol/L).
