Clomid (50mg) 10 Tablets

This medicine is used to treat problems associated with female infertility. It contains Clomiphene, an ovulatory stimulant, which triggers the brain's pituitary gland to secrete an increased amount of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and LH (luteinizing hormone). This action stimulates the growth of the ovarian follicle and thus initiates ovulation.

Ovulatory stimulants

This medicine is used to treat female infertility associated with:

• Oligomenorrhoea (menstrual cycle greater than 35 days)
• Secondary amenorrhoea (absence of menstrual cycles) due to polycystic ovarian disease
• Fibrocystic breasts
• Persistent breast milk production

Note

This medicine is mostly taken orally. The dosage is dependent on the age, and condition and its severity. Please consult your doctor before use. This medicine is not recommended for children.

Seek medical help immediately if you think you have overdosed on this medicaton.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water without chewing. Take the medication daily as recommended by the doctor.

Do not use this medication if you have:

• Liver dysfunction
• Large ovarian cyst
• Endometrial carcinoma (cancer in the lining of the endometrium)
• Uterine bleeding (bleeding from the uterus)
• Uncontrolled thyroid dysfunction

Common side effects include:

• Ovarian hyperstimulation
• Hot flushes, GI Upset
• Abdominal discomfort
• Visual discomfort, insomnia (inability to sleep)
• Breast tenderness
• Headache, fatigue
• Intermenstrual spotting, menorrhagia (heavy menstrual cycles)
• Weight gain, rashes, dizziness, hair loss
• Urticaria (pale red bumps on the skin)

Understand these precautions and warnings before starting the medication:

• Take with caution if there has been a history of drug-related allergy
• Don’t operate heavy machinery or do anything that requires alertness.
