Losartan blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin 2 by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin 2 to the receptor in many tissues, such as vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill). It reduces the amount of water in the body by increasing the flow of urine, which helps lower the blood pressure.

This medicine is used to treat:

• high blood pressure
• heart failure
• prevents strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems

Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment

Overdosing symptoms may present as low blood pressure and dizziness. Seek immediate help in case of overdose

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Swallow with a glass of water with or without food.

Contraindications include:

• Do not use in patients with anuria (absence of urine) or hypersensitivity to the components.
• Avoid use in pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters.

• back pain
