Cobolmin (500μg) 50 Tablets

This medicine is used to treat Vitamin B12 deficiencies and related conditions. It contains Mecobalamin, a Vitamin B12 analog, which functions in the production of a compound called myelin, which covers and protects nerve fibers, restoring and rejuvenating the nerve function.

Vitamin B12 analogues

This medication can be used to treat:

• Peripheral neuropathies
• Megaloblastic anemia
• Alcoholic neuropathy
• Diabetic neuropathy
• Multiple sclerosis

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Take the medication as prescribed by your doctor.
• Take the tablets daily or on alternate days as suggested by the doctor.
• Your doctor will determine the treatment length based on your symptom severity.

High doses of Vitamin B12 may cause:

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Take the medicine daily, with or without food as your doctor has recommended. Take the medication regularly and simultaneously each day to get the most benefit from it.

Mecobalamin is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to this drug or any component of this product or other B12 containing products.

Mecobalamin is generally well tolerated. However, a few side effects may be seen such as:

• Vomiting, nausea
• Loss of Appetite
• Diarrhea
• Headache
• Excessive urination

Follow these precautions and warnings before starting the medication:

• Talk to your doctor if you have any allergic reaction or known hypersensitivity to any medicine components.
• If you are pregnant or a lactating mother, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
• Tell your doctor if you ever had Lever’s disease or other form of optic nerve damage.
• Tell your doctor if you have iron or folic acid deficiency.
• If you don’t find satisfactory results of Mecobalamin for the treatment of anemia or Vitamin B12 deficiencies for at least 12 months, talk to your doctor.

This medication may interact with these drugs:

• Chloramphenicol
• Methotrexate
• Pyrimethamine
• Antibiotics

Alcohol consumption while taking this medication may cause vitamin B12 levels to drop. Before using this medication, please discuss any possible food or alcohol interactions with your doctor or chemist.

Store the medicine at room temperature (not above 30 degrees) and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
