Dapakan (250mg/5ml) 120ml Syrup

This medicine is used to treat epilepsy. It contains Divalproex Sodium, which works by increasing the amount of an amino acid in the brain called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). By changing the amount of GABA in the brain, it can help control epilepsy and stabilize mood.

Antiepileptics

This medicine is used to treat:

• All forms of Epilepsy (brain disorder)
• generalized epileptic seizures, secondary generalized epileptic seizures, and partial epileptic seizures.
• To treat migraines
• Treat symptoms of mania in bipolar disorder, such as aggressiveness, agitation, impulsive behavior, or elevated mood.

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Take as per doctor's Prescription.
• Take the syrup orally, as prescribed by the doctor, usually 1 tablespoon.
• Your doctor will determine the treatment length based on your symptom severity.

If you think you have used too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Shake the bottle well before use. Carefully take one tablespoon or the amount recommended by your doctor.

Do not use this medication if:

• If You are allergic to divalproex sodium or any other ingredient on the list, avoid using this product.
• You suffer from severe liver problems or liver disease.
• You suffer from a mitochondrial illness like Alpers-Huttenlocher Syndrome. Under-2-year-olds may be affected by a mitochondrial disorder.
• You suffer from urea cycle disorders, which impact how your body eliminates waste, or you have a family history.
• You suffer from porphyria, a skin and neurological disorder.
• You or a close relative has a history of severe hepatitis, particularly when caused by medications.

This medication may have the following side effects:

• Talk to your doctor if you have any health conditions, such as unexplained coma, intellectual disability, or kind of brain dysfunction.
• Talk to your doctor if you are above 65 years of age.
• Talk to your doctor if you get thoughts of killing yourself while taking this medication.
• If you have had a false positive urine test for diabetes or you are a woman of childbearing age, consult your doctor before starting this medication.

Store the medicine at a controlled room temperature. Keep the medication away from bright lights, moisture, and children. Please get rid of the medication as soon as it expires.
