Dermazin (1%) 25g Cream

This medication is used to treat skin burns. It contains Silver Sulphadiazine, an antibiotic, which works by killing the bacteria on the infected site or preventing its growth.

This medication is used to treat:

• Skin grafts on the donor site
• Wounds
• Burns
• Infected leg ulcers and pressure sores

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Take as per doctor's Prescription.
• Apply the cream once or twice daily to the affected area, as recommended by the doctor.
• Your doctor will determine the treatment length based on your symptom severity.

If you think you have used too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor. Seek medical emergency help immediately.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Wash your hands before using the cream, gel, or ointment. Use your fingertips to apply a thin layer of the cream, usually before bedtime as recommended by the doctor. Use this cream on the skin only. Do not rub vigorously. Don't apply it to the lip area or inside the mouth. Don't apply the cream to cut, scraped, or eczema-affected skin.

Dermazin cream is not recommended for:

• Premature babies or Newborn babies in the first 2 months of life due to risk of serious side effects.
• Patients with liver disorders, anemia, decreased blood platelets, low levels of white cells, and decreased kidney function.
• If you are a lactating mother.

This medication may pose these side effects:

• Pain
• Burning, itching
• Bluish discoloration of the mucous membrane
• Fever, chills, sore throat
• Unusual weakness
• Abdominal pain
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Dark urine
• Kidney and liver problems

You should practice these cautions before taking the medicine:

• Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, and there’s no safer alternative available.
• Talk to your doctor if you have hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to any of the components in the medicine.
• Talk to your doctor if you have liver impairment and kidney disease.
• Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine.

Tell your doctor or chemist about any medications you are currently taking, have recently taken, or may take in the future, including over-the-counter medications. If you need to apply other medications to the skin areas where you are applying the cream, consult your doctor.

Store the medicine at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
