EPLIRON 25MG TAB 14'S

This medicine is used to treat hypertension. It contains Eplerenone, an Aldosterone Antagonist, electively binds to the mineralocorticoid receptor, thereby blocking the binding of aldosterone and thus inhibiting sodium reabsorption and lowering blood pressure.

Aldosterone Antagonists

This medicine is used to treat:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Congestive heart failure (heart disorder)
• Hepatic cirrhosis (liver disorder) with ascites (fluid in the abdomen)

Take the tablet orally and swallow it with a glass of water without chewing. Take it with or without food as recommended by your doctor.

Seek medical help immediately if you think you have overdosed on this medicaton.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Take this medicine with or without food and stay hydrated.

Don't use this medication if you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of the components of the medicine.

Common side effects include:

• Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting
• Hyperkalaemia(high level of potassium)
• Postural hypotension (low blood pressure)
• Headache, insomnia
• Skin rash, back pain, leg cramps
• Renal impairment

Understand these precautions and warnings before starting the medication:

• Take with caution if there has been a history of drug-related allergy
• Don’t operate heavy machinery or do anything that requires alertness.
• Consult your doctor if you use potassium-sparing diuretics, or potassium supplements or have hyperkalemia (high level of potassium).
