It is a combination of two drugs, Cyproterone acetate and Ethinylestradiol. Cyproterone acetate is a progesterone hormone analogue while Ethinylestradiol is a synthetic oestrogen. Together they work by preventing the release of the egg from the ovaries, and also by preventing the build-up of the lining of the uterus.
