Ferrous Fumarate, Folic Acid is utilized for the following therapeutic indications:

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Take this medicine with a full glass of water. Avoid lying down for at least 10 minutes after taking the tablet. You may take this medicine with food if it upsets your stomach. You may need to follow a special diet while using ferrous fumarate and folic acid.1

The use of this medication is contraindicated in cases of:

• Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of its excipients
• Known serious hypersensitivity to other parenteral iron products
• Anemia not attributed to iron deficiency, e.g. other microcytic anemia

Common side effects include:

• Feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting)
• Stomach discomfort or heartburn
• Loss of appetite
• Constipation
• Diarrhea
• Black stained teeth

You should practice these cautions before taking the medicine:

• Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or lactating, and there’s no safer alternative available.
• Talk to your doctor if you have hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to any of the components in the medicine.
• Talk to your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease.
