Nicorandil relaxes coronary vascular smooth muscle by stimulating guanylyl cyclase and increasing cyclic GMP (cGMP) levels, as well as by a second mechanism resulting in activation of K+ channels and hyperpolarization.

Nicorandil is a medicine used to treat and reduce chest pain caused by angina.
The usual therapeutic range is 10 to 20 mg twice daily. The usual starting dose is 10 mg twice daily, in the morning and the evening preferably.
Seek emergency medical help if you think you have taken too much of this medicine.
If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.
Take 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening. You can take Nicorandil with or without food. Swallow your tablet whole with a drink of water.
