Cinnarizine is an antihistamine that stops from feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting). It works by blocking the effects of histamine in the brain to reduce the symptoms of travel sickness (motion sickness). It also helps to improve blood flow in the inner ear.

Cinnarizine, Tetrahydrozoline combination is utilized for the following therapeutic indications:

• Treatment of vertigo and motion sickness
• Relief of nasal congestion and eye irritation
• Support for reducing dizziness and nausea
• Management of symptoms related to allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Adults and children aged 12 years or older

The usual dose is 2 tablets, taken 3 times a day.

• Children aged 5 to 11 years

The usual dose is 1 tablet, given 3 times a day

Overdose symptoms include somnolence, coma, vomiting, hypotonia, stupor, and convulsions. Seek emergency medical help if you think you have taken too much of this medicine.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

You can suck or chew the tablets, or swallow them whole with a drink of water. It's best to take your cinnarizine tablets after a meal. It will be less likely to upset your stomach.

Do not take this medication if you have:

• Ever had an allergic reaction to cinnarizine or any other medicine
• Porphyria (an inherited blood condition)
• Severe liver disease
• Problems peeing or emptying your bladder
• Epilepsy or any other health problem that causes fits or seizures
• An eye problem called primary angle closure glaucoma
• Parkinson's disease, as cinnarizine could make your symptoms worse
• An allergy test coming up

This medication is also not recommended to take in pregnancy or during lactation.

Common side effects include:

• Feeling sleepy during the daytime
• Feeling sick or being sick (nausea or vomiting)
• Putting on weight

Serious side effects include

• Slow, twitchy, or jerky body movements, muscle stiffness, trembling, or shaking – this is more likely to happen in older people who have taken cinnarizine for a long time
• Yellowing of the whites of your eyes or your skin (although this may be more difficult to see on brown or black skin), and dark pee – these can be signs of liver problems
• Joint pain along with a red skin rash, especially in parts of your body exposed to the sun, such as your arms, cheeks, and nose

You should practice these cautions before taking the medicine:

• Talk to your doctor if you have hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to any of the components in the medicine.
• Talk to your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease.
• Do not drive while using this medication as it can affect the ability to focus.
• Don’t consume alcohol while taking this medication.

Ask your doctor about any possible drug interactions, and discuss every medicine you have been taking.

Store the medicine at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
