Beclomethasone is used to prevent difficulty breathing, chest tightness, wheezing, and coughing caused by asthma in adults. It works by decreasing swelling and irritation in the airways to allow for easier breathing.

Beclomethasone is utilized for the following therapeutic indications:

• Management of asthma
• Treatment of allergic rhinitis
• Relief of nasal inflammation
• Treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• Reduces inflammation and swelling in the respiratory tract
• Prevention of asthma exacerbations
• Improvement of airflow and breathing
• Reduction of nasal congestion and sneezing
• Support for individuals with seasonal allergies
• Management of nasal polyps

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Foster 100/6

The recommended dose is one or two puffs twice daily. The maximum daily dose is 4 puffs.

• Foster 200/6

The recommended dose is two puffs twice daily. The maximum daily dose is 4 puffs.

Seek medical help if you think you have taken too much of this medicine.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Foster is for inhalation use. You should inhale the medicine through your mouth and this takes the medicine directly into your lungs. Whenever possible, stand or sit in an upright position when inhaling. Note:

If you develop worsening shortness of breath or wheezing (breathing with an audible whistling sound), straight after inhaling your medicine, stop using the Foster inhaler immediately and use your quick-acting “reliever” inhaler. Moreover, you should contact your doctor straightaway.

Common side effects include:

• Headache
• Dry throat
• Hoarseness (voice changes)

You should practice these cautions before taking the medicine:

• Talk to your doctor if you have hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to any of the components in the medicine.
• Consult your gynecologist before using this medication during pregnancy and lactation.
• This medication poses the risk of drowsiness, so don’t drive while on this medication.
• Consult your doctor before using beclomethasone for a better analysis if you have liver or kidney disease.

Ask your doctor about any possible drug interactions, and discuss every medicine you have been taking.

Store the medicine at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
