  • Description

    This medicine combines the antibacterial activity of fusidic acid with the anti-inflammatory activity of the mild potency corticosteroid hydrocortisone acetate. The antibacterial action of fusidic acid results from inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis.

  • Uses

    This medication is used for the treatment of bacterial infections including:

    • Impetigo (skin infection forming sores)
    • Cellulitis (inflammation of the skin)
    • Eye infections such as conjunctivitis
  • Dosage

    Apply a small amount to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily for 7 to 14 days.

    Seek medical help if you think you have taken too much of this medicine.

  • Missed Dose

    If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

  • How To Use

    Before applying the medication, clean and pat dry the affected skin areas. Massage a small amount gently into the affected areas three times daily, or as instructed by your doctor. Avoid bandaging, wrapping, or covering the area with a dressing unless specifically directed by your doctor. If you are applying this medication to the face, take care to avoid the eye area to prevent irritation or potentially serious side effects such as cataracts or glaucoma, which may occur with extended use. Adhere to the prescribed duration of use for this medication. Prematurely discontinuing the treatment may allow bacteria to persist. Do not exceed the prescribed application area, frequency, or duration. Accelerating the application will not hasten improvement, but it may heighten the risk of side effects. Should your condition persist or worsen after 14 days of therapy, promptly inform your doctor.

    Don’t use this medication if you have:

    • Untreated bacterial, fungal, or viral infections, or parasitic infestations.
    • Burns, acne or rosacea, perioral dermatitis.
