Description
Hydrocortisone and fusidic acid work together through a multi-step mechanism of action. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid functions by inhibiting the inflammatory response. It binds to glucocorticoid receptors in target cells, leading to the suppression of pro-inflammatory gene expression. This action reduces inflammation, swelling, and redness in affected tissues. Fusidic acid is antibiotic penetrates bacterial cell membranes and inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the bacterial elongation factor G (EF-G). This disruption prevents bacterial growth and replication, making fusidic acid effective against a range of gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus

Dosage
FUSIMAX dosage for the indication of inflammatory skin conditions with bacterial infection, duration of 7-14 days:
- Adults - Apply a thin layer to affected areas 2-3 times daily.
- Children - Apply as directed by a physician.

Precautions & Warnings
Do not use potent steroids to treat diaper dermatoses in infants. Avoid extensive or prolonged use (limit to max 7 days in children). If using potent steroids in children or on face, limit to 5 days and avoid occlusion. Avoid mucous membranes and eye area. Broken, inflamed or occluded skin, psoriasis, dermatitis around chronic leg ulcers. Risk of visual disturbances Elderly.
