For galvus Metformin + Vildagliptin the dosage recommendations are:

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus- For the combination of Metformin and Vildagliptin, the dosage depends on the individual patient's current therapy and blood glucose levels. Initial dose- For patients not adequately controlled on either metformin or vildagliptin alone, the typical starting dose is one tablet containing 50 mg of vildagliptin and 500 mg or 850 mg of metformin, taken twice daily. The maximum dose is 50 mg of vildagliptin and 1000 mg of metformin twice daily, totaling 100 mg of vildagliptin and 2000 mg of metformin daily.

• You have type 1 diabetes
• If you have uncontrolled diabetes along with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rapid weight loss, lactic acidosis (symptoms include stomach pain, fast or rapid breathing, sleepiness).
• If you are a lactation mother.
