Gravinate (50mg) 1ml, 25 Ampoule Injections

This medicine is used to treat nausea and vomiting. It contains Dimenhydrinate, which is an antihistamine and blocks the H1 Histamine which is a substance that the body makes during an allergic reaction.

Antihistamines

This medicine helps in the management of nausea, vomiting, and loss of balance (vertigo).

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Take as per doctor's Prescription.
• Take one injection per day as prescribed by the doctor.

Dimenhydrinate overdose can be life-threatening. Seek emergency medical help if you notice any of these symptoms in case of an overdose:

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

A nurse or medical practitioner usually administers the injection either intramuscularly or intravenously. You should receive every dose that is prescribed even after you feel better. It's necessary to follow the protocol to clear the infection completely. Take this medication after meals.

You should not use this medication if you are:

• Hypersensitive to dimenhydrinate or its components
• During or within two weeks following therapy with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor
• Patients with glaucoma
• Patients with chronic lung disease

• Difficulty urinating
• Drowsiness
• Vertigo
• Increased intraocular pressure
• Balance problems, memory or concentration difficulties (more frequent in the elderly)
• Confusion, hallucinations
• Difficulty sleeping and moving

You should practice these cautions before taking the medicine:

• Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or lactating, and there’s no safer alternative available.
• Talk to your doctor if you have hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to any of the components in the medicine.
• Talk to your doctor if you have a liver or kidney disease.
• Avoid drinking alcohol while using this medicine.
• Avoid the use of topical antihistamines and cold medicines.
• Tell your doctor if you have epilepsy, glaucoma, asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or liver impairment.
• Do not drive after taking this medicine.

This medication may interact with these drugs:

• CNS depressants (e.g. tranquilizers, hypnotics, and anxiolytics)
• Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
• Anticholinergic drugs (e.g. atropine, tricyclic antidepressants)
• CYP2D6, such as metoprolol and venlafaxine

Store the medicine at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
