Dimenhydrinate is competitive antagonist of the H1 histamine receptors in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues. Dimenhydrinate Syrup Dosage Recommendations are:

• Motion Sickness Prevention - Adults 50 to 100 mg taken 30 to 60 minutes before starting the activity.
• General Use (Nausea, Dizziness) - Adults 50 to 100 mg every 6 to 8 hours as needed. Children (6 to 12 years) 25 to 50 mg every 6 to 8 hours as needed, not exceeding 150 mg in 24 hours. Children (2 to 6 years) Up to 25 mg every 6 to 8 hours as needed, not exceeding 75 mg in 24 hours.

Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poison ing. You may need urgent medical attention. Taking too much syrup may increase the signs and symptoms hallucination, mental disturbances, movement disorder, vomiting, spinning sensation, fits and inadequate oxy genation of the blood led to coma, bluish col our of the skin and death due to respiratory failure.
