  • Description

    (Dexibuprofen) a pharmacologically effective enantiomer of rac-ibuprofen, blocks the effect of cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes; these are the natural substances of our body these enzymes help to make other chemicals in the body, called prostaglandins. Some of the prostaglandins are produced at sites of injury or damage and cause pain and inflammation. So by blocking the effect of COX enzymes, this drug treats pain and inflammation.

  • Uses

    Arthritic Pain, Menstrual Pain, Sprains, Dental Pain, Pain in Osteoarthritis.
  • Dosage

    Dose must be taken according to doctor’s advice only; doses given below are suggested as supportive literature for better understanding in some areas of requirements. Adult dose: For mild to moderate pain; 200-400mg orally after every 8 hours, For menstrual pain; 300mg after every 12 hours, For dysmenorrhea; 600-900mg after every 12 hours. Child dose: For fever caused by upper respiratory tract infection in children of 6 months to 14 years; 3.5 or 7mg/kg.
  • In case of Overdose

    Overdose of NSAIDs can affect your stomach health.
  • Missed Dose

    In case you missed any dose, take the next dose as soon as you remember, but don't double your next dose to compensate for the missed one.
  • How To Use

    Take the dose with a meal to avoid stomach discomfort. Drink plenty of water with use.
  • When Not to Use

    Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to Dexibuprofen or NSAIDs.It can not be used in patients with; Impaired hepatic function, Ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, Haemorrhagic diathesis, Gastric ulcer, Bleeding disorders, Coagulation disorder and Severe renal impairment.

  • Precautions & Warnings

    Symptoms or history of gastro-intestinal disease, asthma, impaired hepatic, cardiac or renal function. NSAID may mask infections or temporarily inhibit platelet aggregation. In late pregnancy, as with other NSAIDs, it should be avoided as it may cause premature closure of ductus arteriosus. Dexibuprofen should be used with caution in nursing mothers. Patients with mild to moderate hepatic dysfunction should start therapy at reduced doses and be closely monitored. Dexibuprofen should not be used in patients with severe hepatic dysfunction. The initial dosage should be reduced in patients with mild to moderate impaired renal function. Dexibuprofen should not be used in patients with severe renal dysfunction.
