Mometasone furoate diffuses across cell membranes to activate pathways responsible for reducing inflammation.

Corticosteroids

This medicine is used to treat:

• Psoriasis (immune-mediated red, scaly patches)
• Eczemas (itchy and inflamed patches of skin)
• Other inflammatory dermatoses (any disease of the skin or lesion on the skin)

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Adults and children 2 years of age and older

Apply to the affected area of the skin once a day.

• Children younger than 2 years of age

Use is not recommended.

An overdose of mometasone nasal is not expected to produce life threatening symptoms. Long term use of high doses can lead to thinning skin, easy bruising, changes in body fat (especially in your face, neck, back, and waist), increased acne or facial hair, menstrual problems, impotence, or loss of interest in sex.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Apply a thin film to the affected skin areas once daily.

Mometasone furoate cream, 0.1% is contraindicated in those patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of the components in the preparation.

Side effects may include:

• Burning
• Stinging
• Itching

This cream may increase the risk of cataracts and glaucoma. If visual symptoms occur, consider referral to an ophthalmologist.

Mometasone furoate may increase the anticoagulant activities of Acenocoumarol. Never use these two together.

Store the medicine at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
