    Imipramine is a medication used in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and enuresis (bedwetting in children).

  • Dosage

    Follow these dosage instructions:

    • Adult Dosage

    At first, 75 milligrams (mg) per day. Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed. However, the dose is usually not more than 200 mg per day. Some hospitalized patients may need higher doses.

    • Teenager and older adult Dosage

    30 to 40 mg per day. Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed. However, the dose is usually not more than 100 mg per day.

    • Child Dosage

    Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.

  • In case of Overdose

    Seek emergency medical help if you think you have taken too much of this medicine.

  • Missed Dose

    If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

  • How To Use

    When you use imipramine tablets or capsules to treat depression, take them one or more times a day. You can take them with or without food. If you're using imipramine tablets to stop bedwetting in kids, take them one hour before bedtime.

    Imipramine is contraindicated in patients who have shown prior hypersensitivity to it and in acute porphyria, hepatic impairment and cardiovascular disease.
