Lamisil (250mg) 10 Tablets

This medication is used to treat fungal infections. Terbinafine contains the active ingredient terbinafine hydrochloride which is an antifungal. It kills fungi, which cause skin infections.

Antifungal

Lamisil tablet is used to treat these fungal infections:

• Tinea Pedis (Athlete's Foot)
• Tinea Cruris (Dhobie Itch)
• Tinea Corporis (Ringworm of the body)

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Take as per doctor's Prescription.
• Take one tablet per day as prescribed by the doctor, through mouth with a glass of water.
• Take the tablet at a scheduled day regularly to get the most beenfit.
• Your doctor will determine the treatment length based on your symptom severity.

Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Look out for overdosage symptoms like:

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Take the tablet whole with a glass of water. Tablets containing terbinafine can be taken with or without food. Taking your tablets at the same time every day is recommended. You will likely need to take the tablets for several months if you have a fungal nail infection.

You should not use this medicine if you have:

• Ever experienced liver or kidney issues
• Are pregnant, trying to become pregnant
• You are a lactating mother
• If you ever had an allergic reaction to Terbinafine or any other medicine

The side effects of terbinafine include:

• Nausea/vomiting
• Loss of appetite
• Severe stomach/abdominal pain
• Yellowing eyes/skin
• Dark urine
• Severe dizziness
• Headache
• Upset stomach
• Trouble breathing
• Swelling
• Rash
• Headache

You should practice these cautions before taking the medicine:

• Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant and there’s no safer alternative available.
• Terbinafine has shown an increased risk of drowsiness, so take caution while driving, or don’t drive on the safer side.
• Don’t drink alcohol while taking this medicine.
• Talk to your doctor if you have a severe kidney or liver disease.
• Take liver tests before starting the medication. If hepatotoxicity occurs, stop the medication.

Terbinafine may interact with the following drugs:

• Rifampicin
• Cimetidine
• Antidepressants including tricyclic antidepressants, SSRIs, or MAOIs
• Oral contraceptives
• Beta blockers or antiarrhythmics
• Warfarin, a medicine used to thin your blood. • Medicines to treat heart problems (eg propafenone, amiodarone)
• Ciclosporin
• Medicines used to treat fungal infections (e.g. fluconazole, ketoconazole)
• Medicines used to treat cough (e.g. dextromethorphan)
• Caffeine

Store the medicine at a controlled room temperature. Keep the medication away from bright lights, moisture, and children.
