Dosage
Follow these dosage instructions:
Adult Dosage
Initially, 4 milligrams (mg) (2 capsules) after the first loose bowel movement, then 2 mg (1 capsule) after each loose bowel movement after the first dose has been taken. However, the dose is usually not more than 16 mg (8 capsules).
Child Dosage
Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.

Missed Dose

How To Use
You can take Loperamide either 30 minutes before a meal or when your bowels are generally more active. If your bowel is generally active all the time you can take it twice a day morning and evening. Alternatively you can take it as and when needed such as before you plan to go out or before a long journey.

Contraindicated in patients with:
- A known hypersensitivity to loperamide
- Abdominal pain in the absence of diarrhea
- In infants below 24 months of age
- Acute ulcerative colitis
