  • Description

    This medicine is used as a pain management treatment for Arthritis. It contains Leflunomide, a disease-modifying Antirheumatic Drug, that works by stopping the body from producing too many of the immune cells that are responsible for swelling and inflammation.

    Leflunomide is used to relieve symptoms caused by active rheumatoid arthritis, such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain.

  • Dosage

    Follow these dosage instructions:

    • Adult Dosage

    For patients who are at a low risk for liver disease, start with 100mg once daily for 3 days, then 20mg once daily.

    • Child Dosage

    The dosage for the child is strictly recommended by the doctor.

  • In case of Overdose

    Overdose symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe bone marrow suppression, disturbance of liver function, etc. Seek emergency medical help if you think you have taken too much of this medicine.

  • Missed Dose

    If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

  • How To Use

    Take one tablet per day, with or without food as your doctor has recommended. Swallow the tablet with water and don't chew it. Take the medication regularly and at the same time each day to get the most benefit from it.

  • When Not to Use

    This medication should not be used by the patients with:

    • Severe Immunodeficiency (weak immune system)
    • Bone marrow dysfunction
    • Blood dyscrasias (diseases of blood)
    • Hepatic (liver) and Renal (kidney) insufficiency
    • Ulcerative stomatitis (ulcers in mouth)
    • Hypoproteinemia (low protein level in blood)

    Common side effects include:

    • Loss of appetite
    • Feeling or being sick
    • Stomach pain or indigestion
    • Diarrhea
    • Headaches
    • Feeling tired or drowsy
    • Hair loss

    • Other drugs that can cause liver problems (such as azathioprine, sulfasalazine, retinoids such as isotretinoin)
    • Penicillins
    • Phenytoin
    • Probenecid
    • Procarbazine
    • Pyrimethamine
    • Sulfa medications
    • Tetracyclines.

    Store the medicine at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
