  • Description

    Lercanidipine is a calcium antagonist of the dihydropyridine group and inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium into cardiac and smooth muscle. The mechanism of its antihypertensive action is due to a direct relaxant effect on vascular smooth muscle thus lowering total peripheral resistance.

  • In case of Overdose

    An overdose of lercanidipine can cause dizziness, a fast or irregular heartbeat and sleepiness. The amount of lercanidipine that can lead to an overdose varies. You will need to go to an emergency department

  • Missed Dose

    If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

  • How To Use

    Swallow with a glass of water with or without food. It is better to take right after meals

  • When Not to Use

    Do not use in case of:

    • allergy to constituents
    • renal failure
    • hepatic failure
    • patients undergoing hemodialysis

  • Side Effects

    Common side effects include:

    • edema
    • palpitations
    • headaches
    • reddening of face and neck

  • Precautions & Warnings

    Do not take in case of:

    • heart failure
    • severe kidney and liver disease
    • unstable angina
    • pregnant
    • breastfeeding
