  • Description

    This medicine is used to treat depression and anxiety. It contains Duloxetine, a known serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI), that works by boosting the amount of serotonin (happy hormone).

    This medication may:

  • Dosage

    Follow these dosage instructions:

    • Take as per doctor's Prescription.
    • Take one capsule daily as prescribed by the doctor, through mouth with a glass of water.
    • Take the capsule on a scheduled day regularly to get the most benefit.
    • Your doctor will determine the treatment length based on your symptom severity.
  • In case of Overdose

    If you think you have used too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor. Seek medical emergency help immediately. Watch out for overdose symptoms like coma, seizures, somnolence, irregular heartbeats, diarrhea, and vomiting.

  • Missed Dose

    If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

    Take one capsule daily, with or without food as your doctor has recommended. Take the medication regularly and simultaneously each day to get the most benefit from it.

  • When Not to Use

    Do not use this medication if:

    • You have known liver or kidney impairment.
    • You have hypersensitivity or are allergic to any of the components in the medicine.
    • Do not use MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) with Duloxetine due to an increased risk of Serotonin syndrome (too much serotonin).

    • CNS disorders e.g. dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, somnolence
    • Blurred vision
    • Dysuria (painful urination)
    • Headache, dry mouth

    • Anorexia, increased libido, anxiety, abnormal dreams

    Follow these precautions and warnings before starting the medication:

    • Talk to your doctor if you have any allergic reaction or known hypersensitivity to any of the medicine components.
    • If you are pregnant, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
    • If you are a lactating mother, talk to your doctor.
    • Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver impairment.
    • Patients with Major Depressive Disorder may face worsening of the depression, so talk to your doctor in detail if you have MDD.

    • CYP1A2 Inhibitors
    • CYP2D6 Inhibitors
    • Tricyclic antidepressants [TCAs], such as nortriptyline, amitriptyline, and imipramine
    • Phenothiazine
    • Type 1C anti-arrhythmic (e.g., propafenone, flecainide)
    • Alcohol
