Mesalazine decreases ysnthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, modulating the inflammatory response derived from the cyclooxygenase and liooxygenase pathways.

It's crucial to be informed of the potential risks associated with an overdose. Overdose may be life-threatening in some cases. Time is of the essence, therefore, seek medical care immediately

Try not to miss a dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. Then continue your normal schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

Swallow with a glass of water with or without food.

Contraindicated in:

• patients who are hypersensitive to mesalazine
• hypersensitive patients to salicylates
• severe renal impairedment
• severe hepatic impairment

Side effects include:

• nausea
• stomach upset
• tightness of chest
• constipation
• dry cough

Cautions include:

• Avoid sunlamps and tanning beds
• Do not take antacids

Ths may interact with:

• Esomeprazole
• Dexlanzoprazole
