Tranexamic acid is a synthetic derivative of lysine that exerts antifibrinolytic effects by blocking lysine binding sites on plasminogen molecules, inhibiting the interaction of plasminogen with formed plasmin and fibrin.

• nosebleeds and heavy periods

It's crucial to be informed of the potential risks associated with an overdose. Overdose may be life-threatening in some cases. Time is of the essence, therefore, seek medical care immediately

Try not to miss a dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. Then continue your normal schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

Swallow with a glass of water with or without food.

Contraindicated in:

• patients who are hypersensitive
• hypertension
• pregnancy
• are on oral contraceptives
• deep vein thrombosis
• pulmonary embolism

Side effects include:

• muscle pains or stiffness
• stuffy or runny nose
• headaches
• joint or back pain
• difficulty moving
• chills and fever

Be cautious in case of hypersensitivity or previous blood clotting issues

Do not take with the following:

• blood thinners
• estrogens
• tretinoin
• tibolone
• hormonal birth control pills
• NSAIDs
