Metoclopramide promotes gut motility by inhibiting presynaptic and postsynaptic D2 receptors as well as presynaptic 5-HT4 receptors. It also produces anti-emetic effects.

Anti-emetics

Used for treating nausea and vomiting in patients with:

• diabetic gastroparesis
• GERD

To be taken as per doctor's prescription

Monitor patients for adverse reactions and consult a doctor immediately

Try not to miss a dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. Then continue your normal schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

Swallow these pills with a glass of water. Take these as per your health care provider's instructions.

Do not use in case of:

• gastrointestinal bleeding
• gastrointestinal obstruction
• gastrointestinal perforation

Common side effects include:

• feeling sleepy
• low mood
• diarrhea
• low blood pressure

Do not drive or operate machinery as this can cause drowsiness

Ths may interact with:

• antipsychotics
• rasagiline
• dopamine agonists
• fosfomycin
• MAO inhibitors
