Melfax (7.5mg) 10 Tablets

This medication is used to treat pain and inflammation. It contains Meloxicam, an NSAID, which inhibits the formation of the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX). This inhibition leads to a decrease in molecules that trigger inflammation.

NSAIDs

This medication is used to treat pain, swelling, joint stiffness, and inflammation associated with:

• Arthritis
• Osteoarthritis
• Rheumatoid Arthritis

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Take the medication as prescribed by your doctor.
• Take one tablet daily or as suggested by the doctor.
• Your doctor will determine the treatment length based on your symptom severity.

Overdose symptoms include:

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Take this medication once daily with a glass of water. Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking tablet or capsule form. If you are taking the liquid form of this medication, shake the bottle gently before use. Carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device/spoon. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose.

Do not use this medication, if:

• You are in your third trimester of pregnancy.
• You are allergic to Meloxicam or other ingredients of this medication.
• You are allergic to aspirin or other NSAIDs.

Common side effects may include:

• Upset Stomach, diarrhea
• Nausea, dizziness

Tell your doctor right away if you have serious side effects such as

• A Headache that won’t go away
• Easy bruising/bleeding
• Mental/mood changes
• Signs of kidney problems
• Unexplained stiff neck
• Unusual tiredness
• Unusual weight gain

Follow these precautions and warnings before starting the medication:

• Talk to your doctor if you have any allergic reaction or known hypersensitivity to any medicine components.
• If you are pregnant or a lactating mother, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
• This medication may raise blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you have persistently higher blood pressure.
• Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver impairment.

This medicine may interact with these drugs:

• Medicines to break down blood clots
• Medicines to treat high blood pressure
• Oral corticosteroids
• Cyclosporin
• Any diuretic medicine
• Lithium
• Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
• Methotrexate
• Colestyramine

Store the medicine at room temperature (not above 30 degrees) and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
