Levocetirizine works by blocking histamine receptors, inhibiting the release of histamine from mast cells and prevention of its binding to receptors.

Anti-histamine

Used to treat allergies such as:

• irritation of the eyes
• itchy skin
• watery eyes
• itching of the throat
• skin rashes (hives)
• sneezing
• runny nose and flu-like symptoms

Take as per doctor's prescription

Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Overdose symptoms may include restlessness, nervousness or feeling drowsy

In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. Skip it if it is nearly time for your next dose

Swallow these pills with a glass of water. you may take these after a meal or on an empty stomach. Take these as per your health care provider's instructions.

Do not use if:

• you are nursing and there are safer aternatives available.
• you have to drive immediately after.
• hypersensitivity
• end stage renal disease

Serious side effects include:

• weakness and tremors
• confusion
• disturbed coordination
• uneven heartbeat

• dizziness or feeling drowsy
• dry mouth (xerostomia)
• cough
• nausea and vomiting

Practice caution in case of:

• You are breastfeeding
• You have renal insufficiency
• You have epilepsy
• Immediate driving or use of sensitive machinery after drug use

Do not use in case you are already using:

• Levocetirizine-containing formulations (either topical or oral)
• Other anti-histamines
• Gabapentin
• Isocarboxacid
• Ritonavir
• Theophylline
