Olmesartan medoxomil inhibits the actions of angiotensin II on the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, which plays a key role in the pathogenesis of hypertension.

Olmesartan is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

The dosage is usually 10 mg orally once a day; may increase the dose to 20 mg in two weeks if further blood pressure reduction is needed.

Seek emergency medical help if you think you have taken too much of this medicine.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

You can take olmesartan with or without food. Your doctor may suggest that you take your first dose before bedtime, as it can make you feel dizzy. After the first dose, you can then take olmesartan at any time of day.

Do not use this medication in the following circumstances:

• Concurrent use of ACE inhibitors.
• Previous reaction to olmesartan

• Pregnancy (especially second/third trimester)
• Severe renal impairment.

Side effects may include:

• Feeling dizzy or tired
• Headaches, flu-like symptoms, runny or stuffy nose, cough or bronchitis
• Pain in your back, bones, or joints
• Feeling sick (nausea) or indigestion
• Stomachache
• Diarrhea
• Swollen feet, ankles, legs, or hands (edema)
• Urinary tract infection (UTI)

To achieve desired therapeutic results, it is important to follow the recommended dosage and duration of treatment or as advised by the doctor .

The food interactions that should be considered while using Amlodipine and Olmesartan are:

• No significant interactions with food for Amlodipine.
• Grapefruit juice may increase levels of amlodipine in your blood. Limit grapefruit juice consumption while taking the product.
• No significant interactions with food for Olmesartan. Alcohol can increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness and low blood pressure. Avoid or limit the use of alcohol while taking the product.

Store the medicine at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
