  • Description

Tetrahydrozoline is a sympathomimetic amine that primarily acts as an alpha-adrenergic agonist. It exerts its vasoconstrictive effects by binding to alpha-adrenergic receptors in the blood vessels of the eyes, leading to vasoconstriction and reduced blood flow, which helps alleviate redness and irritation. On the other hand, Cromolyn, as a mast cell stabilizer, inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators from mast cells. It stabilizes the cell membrane, preventing the degranulation process and the subsequent release of histamine and other inflammatory substances, thereby reducing the symptoms associated with allergic conjunctivitis.
