  • Description

Sulbactam and Cefoperazone, when used together, provide a synergistic effect in treating bacterial infections. Cefoperazone is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to cell lysis and death. It is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents certain bacteria from breaking down cephalosporins like Cefoperazone. By inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes, Sulbactam enhances the effectiveness of Cefoperazone, especially against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria that would otherwise be resistant to Cefoperazone alone.
