  • Description

Quinine 300MG Tablet primarily acts by interfering with the growth and replication of certain parasites, particularly those belonging to the Plasmodium species, which cause malaria. Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the hemozoin biocrystallization process within the parasite. Normally, the malaria parasite digests hemoglobin, releasing toxic ferriprotoporphyrin IX (FP), which it manages to detoxify by converting it into an insoluble crystalline form called hemozoin. Quinine disrupts this process by binding to FP and inhibiting its conversion to hemozoin, leading to the accumulation of toxic FP within the parasite. This disruption ultimately results in the death of the Plasmodium parasite, thereby treating malaria.

In the case of an overdose of Quinine 300MG Tablets, several symptoms may occur, including nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, and ringing in the ears. More severe cases can lead to irregular heart rhythms, severe headaches, and confusion. If an overdose is suspected, prompt medical intervention is necessary. Seek emergency medical care, and provide healthcare professionals with the patient's medical history and details of the overdose, including the quantity and timing of ingestion.

  • Missed Dose

In the case of a missed dose of Quinine 300MG Tablet, it is important to take action as soon as possible. If you remember within a few hours of the missed dose, take the tablet immediately. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one, as this may increase the risk of side effects. It is recommended to set a reminder or use a pill organizer to help you remember to take your medication as prescribed.

Keep the medication in its original container, tightly sealed, to maintain its integrity and prevent contamination. It is crucial not to expose the tablets to extreme temperatures, so avoid storage in bathrooms or near heat sources like ovens or radiators. Always check the expiration date before using the medication, and dispose of any unused or expired tablets responsibly. Do not dispose of them via toilet or drainage systems; instead, seek guidance from a pharmacist or healthcare professional for appropriate disposal methods.
