This medicine is indicated in Mild to moderate hypertension. Symptomatic heart failure, prophylaxis after myocardial infarction in patients with clinical evidence of heart failure and when initial dose not tolerated. Prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or with diabetes mellitus and at least one additional risk factor for CV disease. Nephropathy -
Side Effects
Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, cough. Rarely, symptomatic hypotension, angioneurotic oedema, syncope, renal impairment, hepatic impairment, bronchitis, sinusitis, dyspnoea, GI upset, rash, muscle spasms, myalgia, chest pain, hyperkalaemia. Hypersensitive reactions. Reports of neutropenia/agranulocytosis -
Precautions & Warnings
It should be used with caution in Congestive heart failure, initiate therapy in hospital. Hepatic impairment; initiate therapy under close medical supervision Haemodialysis. Renal impairment, reduce dose and assess renal function prior to and during treatment Blood dyscrasias, risk of severe hypotension in patients with severe hypertension, heart failure, aortic or mitral valve stenosis, salt or fluid depletion, liver cirrhosis or ascites; monitor BP closely.
