Rapicort (5mg) 100 Tablets

This medicine is used to treat allergies and inflammation. It contains Prednisolone which is a corticosteroid. These are naturally present in the human body, but giving an extra-boost may help speed up the process to reduce inflammation.

Corticosteriod

This medication is used to treat the allergy and inflammation due to the fungal (candidal) infections.

Follow these dosage instructions:

• Take as per doctor's Prescription.
• Take one tablet per day as prescribed by the doctor, through mouth with a glass of water.
• Take the tablet at a scheduled day regularly to get the most benefit.
• Your doctor will determine the treatment length based on your symptom severity.

If you think you have used too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor. Seek medical emergency help immediately. Overdose symptoms include:

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Take the tablet whole with a glass of water. It is recommended to take the medicine same time every day.

Do not take Prednisolone if you have any of these conditions:

• Allergic to prednisolone or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
• Suffering from a serious infection that is not being treated
• Suffering from a herpes infection of the eye.

This medication may pose these side effects:

• Tiredness, dizziness
• increased number of white blood cells
• blood clotting
• nausea and vomiting
• heart problems that can cause shortness of breath
• convulsions
• vertigo
• headache
• raised pressure in the brain
• vision problems
• worsening of schizophrenia
• worsening of epilepsy
• increased pressure in the eyeball (glaucoma)
• whitening or clouding of the lens (cataracts)
• pressure on the nerve to the eye, thinning of the tissues of the eye (sclera and cornea)
• bulging eyes

You should practice these cautions before taking the medicine:

• Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or lactating, and there’s no safer alternative available.
• Talk to your doctor if you have hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to any of the components in the medicine.
• Talk to your doctor if you have a liver or kidney disease.
• Avoid drinking alcohol while using this medicine.
• Avoid foods with extra oil like fried items.
• Tell your doctor if you have had Tuberculosis (TB), or have osteoporosis.

Tell your doctor or chemist about any current or potential medications you may be taking, particularly if you take itraconazole and ritonavir.

Store the medicine at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
