This medication is used to treat certain psychological disorders. It contains Sertraline, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, which works by increasing levels of serotonin in the brain.

This medicine is used to treat:

• Depression
• Panic attacks
• Stress disorder
• Severe form of premenstrual syndrome

Take as per doctor's prescription. The dosage depends on what your doctor suggests to you, based on your age, weight, and immune system condition. Do not stop the medication abruptly:

• Adult Dosage

The starting dosage is 50mg daily for adults. The doctor may need to adjust the dose. However, the usual dosage should not exceed 200mg/day.

• Child Dosage

For children under 12 years of age, the recommended dosage is 25mg daily. However, consult with the doctor to adjust the dosage for your child.

If you think you have used too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor. Seek medical emergency help immediately if the patient has collapsed, had a seizure, has trouble breathing, or can't be awakened.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Take the tablets daily as your doctor has recommended. Take the medication regularly and simultaneously each day to get the most benefit from it. Do not take more of it, do not take it more often, and do not take it for a longer time than your doctor ordered.

Do not use this medication in these circumstances:

• If you have severe hepatic impairment.
• If you have unstable epilepsy (Seizures)
• If you have been using MAOIs in the last 2 weeks.
• If you have only stopped using moclobemide (another type of anti-depression medicine) in the last week.

Common side effects include:

• Upset stomach
• Anorexia (eating disorder)
• Sexual problems
• Tremor (unintentional muscle movement)
• Increased sweating
• Pharyngitis (inflammation of the throat)
• Nightmares, agitation
• Bruxism (teeth grinding)
• Tinnitus (ringing in the ear)
• Palpitations (increased heartbeat)
• Insomnia
• Malaise (feeling ill)
• Myalgia (muscle pain)
• Skin rash
• Urinary retention (unable to urinate)
• Seizures or psychosis

Follow these precautions and warnings before starting the medication:

• Talk to your doctor if you have any allergic reaction or known hypersensitivity to any medicine components.
• If you are pregnant or a lactating mother, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
• Please avoid driving while using this medication as it can impact your concentration.
• Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver impairment.
