Mometasone, like other corticosteroids, possesses anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties. For allergies, corticosteroids reduce the allergic reactions in various types of cells (mastocytes and eosinophils) that are responsible for allergic reactions.

An overdose of mometasone nasal is not expected to produce life threatening symptoms. Long term use of high doses can lead to thinning skin, easy bruising, changes in body fat (especially in your face, neck, back, and waist), increased acne or facial hair, menstrual problems, and impotence. Seel medical help in case of overdose

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Blow your nose gently. Keep your head upright and insert the tip of the bottle into one nostril. Press your other nostril closed with your finger. Breathe in quickly and gently spray the medicine into your nose. Then use the spray in your other nostril.

Do not use in case of:

• allergy to constituents

Common side effects include:

• blurred vision
• diarrhea
• nausea
• unexplained nosebleeds
• headaches

Avoid spraying into the eyes and replace cap after each use

This medication may interact with these drugs:

• amlodipine
• aspirin
• duloxetine
• gabapentin
• albuterol
