Product Information
Quetiapine, a 25mg tablet, primarily acts as an antagonist at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors and dopamine D2 receptors, which are key neurotransmitter receptors in the brain. By blocking these receptors, quetiapine helps to rebalance neurotransmitter activity, particularly in the prefrontal cortex and limbic system. This mechanism is thought to be responsible for its therapeutic effects, primarily in the management of psychotic disorders. Quetiapine's action on these receptors leads to improved mood regulation, reduced intensity of psychotic episodes, and better management of symptoms associated with certain mental health conditions. The focus of this mechanism is on modulating neurotransmitter systems to promote a more stable and balanced brain environment.
